Future prospects
In the past few months, the question was raised how GSGG will proceed or whether GSGG is even threatened by closure. The reason is probably the reduction of funds for grants and allowances after the generous funding by the federal state of Lower Saxony. GSGG is a permanent institution, which – apart from our funding programme – performs various crucial tasks (qualification programme, quality assurance, consulting service, etc.). At present, the four graduate schools of Göttingen, the presidium and the faculties have to agree how to proceed. Nevertheless, there can be no doubt that GSGG will continue to exist.
