Tag der GSGG

On 1st November 2018, our annual “Tag der GSGG” will take place. The programme of the “Geisteswissenschaftliche Einblicke” includes the North Germanic mythology in the Marvel universe and the situation of Syrian refugees which belong to the wide spectrum of queer identity. Further short presentations deal with the narrative communication in Homer’s Ilias or with the student movements in Germany and Italy. The award winner for the best poster will be chosen by the audience. On the occasion of the festive event in the evening, the “Christian-Gottlob-Heyne-Preis” will be awarded, which is endowed with € 5,000 and which will be awarded to the Arabist Christian Mauder for his dissertation „In the Sultan‘s Salon: Learning, Religion and Rulership at the Mamluk Court of Qāniṣawh al-Ghawrī (r. 1501-1516)“.
