Day of the GSGG/Awarding of the Christian-Gottlob-Heyne-Award 2020

The Christian-Gottlob-Heyne-Award this year goes to the Arabist Enrico Boccaccini. He received his doctorate with a thesis on „Transcultural Comparisons of Mirrors for Princes (8th-13th century) from both sides of the East-West-Divide“. Also honoured are Inga Schürmann (German Philology) and Lubomir Suva (Slavic Philology), who were on this year’s shortlist with their dissertations “Die Kunst des Richtens und die Richter der Kunst. Die Rolle des Literaturkritikers in der Aufklärung”(Schürmann) and“ Der tschechische Himmel liegt in der Hölle. Märchen von Božena Němcová und den Brüdern Grimm im Vergleich”(Suva).
