East. West. Equal? 30 years of unity at the Faculty of Humanities (interview series by the Equal Opportunities Office of the Philosophical Faculty)
Even 30 years after reunification, people of East German origin and socialization are less represented in research and science as well as in higher administrative levels at universities nationwide. On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of German unity, the Equal Opportunities Office asked what the relationship between East and West Germans was like in the Faculty. Members of the faculty, such as Prof. Dr. Sebastian Günther from the Seminar for Arabic Studies/Islamic Studies, Jun.-Prof. Dr. Jens Elze from the Department of English Philology and the managing director of the Faculty Jacqueline Schubert, report on their personal experiences.
