„Who Cares?“ – Discussion event of the Göttingen Centre for Gender Studies (GCG)

January 20, 2022, Start: 6 p.m., online via zoom

The discussion event is part of the interdisciplinary project „Who Cares? An Investigation of the Compatibility of Research and Care Work in the Time of COVID-19 and Beyond“ (funded by Volkswagen Foundation). The focus is on the question of how science is compatible with caring for children and/or other family members, which has experienced a new dynamic with the onset of the pandemic. To what extent do the experiences of the pandemic challenge our understanding of science and thus the ideas of reconciling research and family? And which strategies of equality have proven themselves and where do we need new ones to ensure forms of equality in the science enterprise?

Viola Priesemann (Max Planck Institute for Dynamics and Self-Organisation), Lisa-Marian Schmidt (staff member of the project „Who Cares?“ at the Göttingen Centre for Gender Research), Renate Putschbach (Equal Opportunities and Diversity Unit) and Astrid Biele Mefebue (Institute for Diversity Research) will discuss. Moderation: Nele Hoffmann.

The zoom link will be made available on the GCG homepage from 17 January 2022.
