International Round Table
On 23rd September, the first “International Round Table“ took place, to which we, from now on, will invite you every semester. In the last weeks, a number of our international members reported on their situation; this primarily involved questions concerning resident status, duration of stay and the communication with the immigration authority of Göttingen.
We would like to point out to the PhD students who require a visa that you can approach us at any time if you would like to be accompanied to an appointment with the immigration authority. Our student assistant, Lena Bünck, can accompany you to the immigration authority and translate if necessary (English-German): Please find further information at our homepage.
The university and the immigration authority endeavour to do a good job. If you see reason for critique, please contact the central office of GSGG early on so that we can tackle problems quickly. Together with the other three graduate Schools in Göttingen and the department Göttingen International, we work on establishing transparent communication structures and on providing comprehensive and reliable information for international PhD students as soon as possible.
